What is Your Ayurvedic Body Type?
The universe is
made up of five elements – Fire, Water, Earth (Soil), Air and Ether (Space).
According to Ayurveda the Human Body is classified into
three body types (or doshas); which are: -
Vata, Pitta and Kapha
Vata Dosha - Air and Ether together form the Vata Dosha and
it has influence over one’s Movement.
Pitta Dosha – Fire and Water together form the Pitta Dosha
and it has influence over one’s Transformation.
Kapha Dosha – Water and Earth together form the Kapha Dosha
and it has influence over one’s cohesion.
Knowing your dosha can help you maintain optimal health
and to plan your lifestyle
according to the requirements of your body!

# Check if you are Vata?

Body structure - The people
belonging to this category, usually tend to have less weight and bony
structures. It is difficult for them to gain weight. They have dry skin and
hair; which may be a problem for them. Their body is often cold. They have fast
but weak pulse.
Lifestyle - It can be
said that the people of the Vata Category are the most Active, energetic and
mobile. They are restless and this affects their Sleep Quality. They have a
light sleep and are more prone to Sleep disorders like insomnia. Mostly, they eat
in very less quantity.
Communication – They usually
enjoy talking a lot but they speak very fast which sometimes is hard for others
to understand. It may be said that they are talkative!
Mental state - Mentally and
emotionally they are very quick. They are quick at gathering or displaying
information’s or emotions. They tend to learn fast but due to their poor
retention, they forget fast as well.
Nature – Vata people generally
have low confidence. They feel stressed in an unfamiliar situations. They are
very impatient but are adaptive and flexible to change. Most of them are highly
creative and sensitive. They often find it hard not to spend money.

Body structure – The people belonging to this category, usually have medium weight. They have good amount of muscle tone and always feel warm. They have high energy level with a good digestive system. They may be a victim of early balding or premature grey hair. They have soft skin and might get sunburned easily.
Lifestyle – They have a moderate sleep and is not easily disturbed.
They have a constant want or desire for food and they dislike hot weather,
sunlight and heat. They have a strong pulse.
Communication - They usually speak loudly and often dominate any
conversation.
Mental state – They are ambitious people but are very intelligent and
focused too! They are passionate about life and can be easily irritated.
Nature – They usually tend to express their feelings and
emotions to others and love to be the Centre of a conversation. They have leadership
qualities and enjoy competitive sports and games. They are at times highly
intolerant and impatient.
# Check if you are Kapha?
Body structure – The people belonging to this category, generally have the largest of all body types. They have thick hair and wide hips and shoulders. Their teeth are strong and well formed. They may be overweight and tend to gain weight easily. The have a slow but steady pulse.
Lifestyle – They are often very lethargic and hard to motivate.
They enjoy eating a variety of cuisines and other food. They are slow in physical
activities and also have a slow digestion. They love to sleep a lot. Whenever
they get time, they will get a Nap!
Communication – They have a pleasant and attractive voice.
Mental state - They are slow learners, but have a sharp memory. Most
of them are very stable and loyal. It is hard to irritate them!
Nature – They like their familiar surroundings. They are good
at saving money and thus, don’t lend money to someone easily. Their emotions
are slow and they take time to be excited. They are highly tolerant and
forgiving. They cling to their family or familiar associations.
The balance of these three doshas define the Health of a
Human!
